PanGottic Circus Theatre: Logic of Nothing

PanGottic Circus Theatre, Doohickey

Welcome to the world of Oscar Boffin, a slightly obsessive compulsive hoarder, an inventor, and a man who has filled his home with gadgets and contraptions to make his life easier (or harder, depending on how well they work).

On this rare occasion Oscar has invited you, the audience, into his home to show you some of his wonderful, bewildering and strange contraptions. Observe as the demonstrations go brilliantly, badly and unexpectedly (for the audience and the inventor) and slowly turn into a surreal journey through and into the mind and world of Oscar Boffin.

PanGottic's Doohickey will be a circus-theatre piece that uses Heath Robinson Contraptions / Rube Goldberg Machines as an integral part of the performance, exploring how these devices can mirror the spectator's experience of circus – by being visually very pleasing and satisfying, by creating tension and expectation, and by expressing the risk of failure and the pleasure of success.
