Running 45 live-work studios from within a former military academy / ducal hunting lodge and summer residence known as Castle Solitude, The Akademie Schloss Solitude is a foundation offering an interdisciplinary, international fellowship program for individual artists and scientists.
The fellowship supports travel costs, gives the use of a studio and shared use of workshops, pays a monthly stipend of 1100 euros, and can in some cases cover project/materials costs. Fellowships can last between three and twelve months, and fellows are expected to spend at least two-thirds of their residency at the Akademie Schloss Solitude.
Persons up to 35 years old – or older if they've completed a university or college degree within the past five years – are eligible to apply. Current students are not. Artists can be working in more or less any genre.
For more information and to apply see here. Applications are opened only once every two years, so plan ahead.
