Clown

Monstrous or absurd, sweet or savage, shy or bullying. The circus clown can adopt any persona, but is distinguished from the physical theatre or the Lecoq clown by a lineage that stretches back to the role of court jester: a figure whose position outside of society allows them to infiltrate and subvert its deepest heart.
