The spine of Atempo is three very strong solos from the company's three performers – Miguel Soto on Chinese pole, expressive and stylised; Matias Marré, extraordinary on Roue Cyr, an apparatus whose wilful personality and gliding movement he mirrors, counteracts and balances; and a captivating, self-possessed Marilén Ribot on cloudswing, an act which she eventually performs blindfolded. The transitions between the apparatuses have been worked on and intelligently refined, and it feels fuller and more committed and just better than most of what you see on the street – or in the theatre. There's attitude and fire there, too.
