Really, though? Again? For the third year running the Southbank Centre give over a big block of autumn to the Cirque Invisible, a hardy perennial that's been touring the world for several decades. It's a two-hander by Victoria Chaplin and Jean-Baptiste Thiérrée (the parents of contemporary circus giants James and Aurelia Thiérrée) which blends together a fast stream of tricks in a vaudevillian style – magic and illusion and gags. Sideshow found it at once tired and overeager, but the Southbank Centre wouldn't keep bringing it back if it wasn't a hit with audiences – and especially with families.
