After a successful run in Edinburgh last year, Australian company Gravity & Other Myths return with the same show, A Simple Space. Performed on a bare stage with the audience close and surrounding the action on three sides, it's a little similar to Un Loup Pour L'Homme's Face Nord in structuring itself around games/competitions pursued to failure – endurance somersaults, handstand trials, and so on. It's a little friendlier than the work of the French company, though – more eager to please, and perhaps a bit less conceptual/intellectual – and overall is a simple, warm and engaging piece.
