The capstone of the Cultural Olympiad and perhaps the last action of London as a city anyone wants to live in, the London 2012 Festival is in fact a huge nationwide chain of events, with music, film, literature and performance across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland 21 June - 9 September 2012.
There are a couple of circus productions in the mix. One, Stumble danceCircus's Box of Frogs, an Unlimited commission responding to the conditions of bipolar disorder, has already been seen at Jacksons Lane, but there are also two big imports. Australian company Circa will, excitingly, be presenting their collaboration with the vocal ensemble I Fagiolini, How Like An Angel, a promeade piece made especially for cathedrals (and performed for the festival in Norwich Cathedral). Plus renegade New York choreographer Elizabeth Streb will be bringing her Extreme Action Company over for One Extraordinary Day: Streb Action, an event spread over the capital and lasting from dawn until well into the night.
