*** Stratford Circus have had a performer pull out from their June Saturday Scratch and are looking to fill the gap (ideally with a 'circus ensemble/group/company of four or more – or another aerialist'). Applications are open again until 5 May 2012. ***
Now a regular feature in Stratford Circus' programming (coming around approximately once a season) Saturday Scratch is an opportunity for artists to showcase new or early-stage work in a supportive environment.
The next Scratch will be on 16 June 2012, and is open to established and emerging circus artists who want to share new and developing work. Artists can apply to be part of the show line-up, and those successful will be invited for technical rehearsals on Friday 15 or Saturday 16 June. Stratford Circus will supply technical support including a rigger. A professional photographer will be on hand to capture high-quality images during the dress rehearsal. Stratford Circus is, however, unable to pay fees or participation expenses to participating artists.
Saturday Scratch is a curated event and invitations will be offered to artists on the basis of an application outlining experience, accompanied by links to examples of work. Artists will need to be available to participate in a full schedule at Stratford Circus from the 15-16 June 2012.
You can download the application form here [.doc]. Completed applications should be returned to Stratford Circus (Saturday Scratch), Theatre Square, London E15 1BX or e-mailed to shau-walker@stratford-circus.com The deadline for all applications is 30 March 2012 5 May 2012.
