Mayfest and Theatre Bristol are looking to comission a new work by an artist or company based in the South West to appear in the 2015 Mayfest programme.
The commission isn't limited to a particular genre/artform; instead the organisers are just looking for 'ambitious performance projects'. Clarification: 'We don’t mean to cop out of answering, but it’s hard to be prescriptive here. It’s an invitation to be bold and audacious. We’re interested in work that has a direct relationship with its audience - that is concerned with how it moves all who encounter it imaginatively, emotionally, intellectually or actively. It might happen in a theatre, in a park, in a cupboard, online…'
On offer is a comissioning fee of up to £5000, various flavours of production and marketing support, technical support, and an R&D residency at Mayfest 2014.
Deadline for applications is 9am on 2 December 2013. For more information and to apply see here.
