For the fourth year running Spoffin, an annual festival of street arts and site-specific performance held in the city of Amersfoort, is offering a residency to support a young theatre artist/company in the process of finishing a new project created for public space.
The residency will take place in Amersfoort during August 2014 and offers free use of Laswerkplaats, a fully equipped theatre studio (length 21m, width 14m, height 5m) surrounded by lots of outdoor space; accommodation for the whole of August and meals during the festival; the opportunity to showcase short presentations of the performance at the Spoffin PRO meeting (30-31 August); publicity and some production support; and at least two performances during the Spoffin festival (29-31 August), with the artist/company taking 100% of the money from the hat.
The residency is for artists/companies willing to work independently, as while Spoffin can offer some in-kind support, companies will have to manage meals themselves and the maintain the good condition of the residency space. Artists/companies must cover their own travel, and their is no fee/stipend for the residency.
