During their week-long residency at Watch This Space the final year students at Circus Space will be rehearsing an ensemble show, Step It Out, ready to give three performances over the final weekend. These student shows always have the potential to be great – the raw talent is there, and so much of it (where else in circus do you get a cast of twenty?) – but the final result rests very much on the ability of the director (different each year) to find a focus that unites a discordant range of ambitions and styles. This time the challenge is taken up by Sue Broadway – of Circus Oz and Ra Ra Zoo fame, among others.
