Surge, the annual Glasgow festival run by the circus / street arts / physical theatre advocacy and development body Conflux, is currently inviting applications from artists and companies interested in presenting work at Surge 2013 (22-28 July).
They're looking for applications from established, Scottish-based companies and solo artists, and are 'particularly interested in hearing of robust projects that - whilst having a strong physical element – may draw extensively on artforms other than street arts, physical theatre and circus'. Whereas in the past much of the Scottish work presented at the festival has been the product of associated training programmes and has concentrated on supporting emerging artists, in 2013 the festival is also interested in presenting work created by established artists.
To apply e-mail a note of interest, a single page synopsis of the project you wish to present at Surge 2013 and links to any supporting material to alseed@conflux.co.uk Projects can be at any stage of development. No deadline for application has yet been set.
