Started just last year in Stockholm, Stoff is a young fringe festival focused on performance, theatre and installation-art that favours new and emerging artists.
The festival is divided into two parts – the main Fest and the Pre-Stoff. The Pre-Stoff, in the week before the festival proper and in collaboration with various other cultural events, puts the focus on outdoor stages, installations and street performances that are completely free to the public. Then the main Stoff Fest continues to offer outdoor performances, but adds indoor installation and ticketed work.
Applications are open for artists and companies who are interested in appearing either at Stoff or Pre-Stoff. There is a registration fee for artists/companies who wish to appear at the main Fest, but stage-based artists are offered 60% of total ticket income.
The next edition of the festival runs 22-28 August 2011 (with Pre-Stoff 16-21 August). Deadline for applications is 20 March 2011. See here for an application form and guidance notes.
