Citrus Arts have put out a call for circus performers to audition for their new show Heist, directed by Bridie Doyle-Roberts, which will tour to Welsh theatres in spring 2012.
They're interested in acrobatic duos and solo circus artists of any discipline who are able to work as part of a theatrical ensemble, but caution that the smallest venue for the tour has a stage of 8m x 6m, with a rigging height of 6m, so they can't accommodate any acts which require large stage spaces or motor-winch/counterweighting systems. Note also that only 'artists with manipulation and/or acrobatic skills additional to their specialties' will be invited to auditions.
Working on Heist is 'a great opportunity for open and collaborative circus performers willing to learn from and work with actors and dancers', and 'successful applicants will be greatly encouraged to contribute to the devising of the work'.
Contract dates are 1 April – 2 May 2012. Fee: £375 per week. Citrus Arts can arrange shared-house accommodation in Cardiff, if needed.
Auditions are in Bristol on 8 February (1-4pm). To apply send a CV, statement of interest, and photos / links to online footage to bridie@citrusarts.co.uk
