Last seen in 2006, Circus Futures, an event that combines a conference with a series of industry showcases, will return to Bristol 30 November – 1 December 2011, and the organisers have issued an open call for artists wishing to present work in the showcases.
The showcases – three in all, produced by Flora Herberich, Joe Mackintosh and Mike Martins – are for work that's finished and ready for the Circus Futures delegates to book, but there may also be opportunities to present works-in-progress.
There are also three residencies on offer for showcase artists, which can be taken up either before or after the Circus Futures conference, and which will provide a suitable rehearsal space, funds for a technical crew, an outside eye, and assistance toward living costs for the artists.
To apply for the showcase (and residencies) fill in this extensive form. Deadline is midnight on 2 October 2011, but you have to post some stuff as well, so don't leave it to the last moment. If you have unfinished work that you'd like to publicise at the conference e-mail circusfuturesartists@gmail.com
