London-based company Elastic Theatre are looking for a young male circus performer (acting age early to mid twenties) to participate in an R&D intensive for a new dance-opera production inspired by the films of Felini and exploring issues surrounding Obssesive Compulsive Disorder.
They're looking for performers with strong acting and acrobatic skills, and preferably with experience of devising and improvisation. They're open when it comes to the artist's discipline, but it 'should not involve complex set ups and you should be able to perform [...] in virtually any space'.
R&D is three half-days: 29 October and 5 November 2011, 9.30am – 2.30pm, and one evening, flexibly scheduled, 5.45-8.45pm. Contribution fee is £120. Participation doesn't assure involvement in the later stages of the project (in 2012/2013).
To apply send a photo and CV, plus a short email indicating your interest in the project, to staff.elastictheatre@gmail.com by 30 September 2011. Auditions will take place at London Metropolitan University, where Elastic are currently based.
