Stepping up its activities after a significant win in the ACE National Portfolio, Sheffield's Greentop has announced the appointment of clown / physical theatre performer Gerry Flanagan to the new role of Associate Creative Director. Gerry will teach and direct on Greentop's long-standing foundation course, Circus in Performance, as well as leading on a new artist development programme, Hot House.

Hot House will allow artists to use Greentop facilities as a creation/rehearsal/devising space, with the added benefit of guidance and direction from Gerry in his Creative Director role. The first round of applications will open shortly.

Hot House is part of Circus North, an ACE initiative to develop circus in the north of England by improving the quality of circus skills education and youth circus provision, and by increasing opportunities for creative and artistic development.
