• Male Rope Performer for Genius Sweatshop's The Man who wasn't there

    27 July 2011 Jobs & Opportunities

Genius Sweatshop are looking for a male corde lisse artist to join the company for a planned rework of The man who wasn't there, their JTCE shortlisted piece.

You'll be expected to learn existing, and to help to devise new, material, will need good acting skills, experience of solo and ensemble performance, and of course you'll need to be a good rope artist. The company would also be interested to hear from dance artists who've moved over into aerial.

The performer is needed for a two-week development period in the autumn (provisionally November), and then two weeks of rehearsals in January leading to an early spring premiere. Applicants must be available to perform a small London-based tour in spring/summer 2012.

Fee is £1540 for development and rehearsals excluding the tour, but is dependent on funding, which will be confirmed if successful by the end of September. Without funding, the schedule will be pushed back while the company look for money.

To apply send a CV and a link to video footage of previous work to geniussweatshop@gmail.com by 3 August 2011. Auditions will take place on 15 August from 10am - 6pm in London.
