Mayfest and Theatre Bristol are currently inviting applications for a commission to create a new work. The work will be performed at Mayfest 2013 at a non-theatre-based location (outdoors or indoors) somewhere in Bristol.
Mayfest and Theatre Bristol are particularly looking for ideas that engage with their surroundings and respond to the space in which they are staged, that could take place in parts of Bristol in which not much arts activity happens, that engage a broad audience who may not be regular theatre-goers, and that is able to have further life after the Mayfest performances.
The selected work will receive a commission of up to £3000, production and marketing support, technical support during the festival, and producer advice/creative feedback during development and realisation.
