In the lead up to SURGE 2012, Conflux is offering twenty artists the opportunity to work with PVI Collective, a multidisciplinary Australian group who create (and I love this:) 'tactical media artworks that seek out radical, darkly humorous solutions for living in an unstable twenty first century'.
The residency covers four weeks that will be spent devising, creating and performing a new piece deviator, with ten artists joining for all four weeks, and a further ten for just the last two. All artists will perform in deviator at SURGE 2012.
Dates:
Week 1: 2-6 July 2012
Week 2: 9-13 July 2012
Week 3: 16-20 July 2012
Week 4 (SURGE Festival): 23 July – 29 July
Participants will have travel expenses paid from outside of Glasgow and per diems for days spent working on the project.
deviator won't be a circus piece, but PVI work partly within the blurry zone of physical theatre and Conflux are obviously sympathetic to circus. To read more about the opportunity and the application guidelines see here [PDF].
