So it's about time a circus company won the Oxford Samuel Beckett Theatre Trust Award, right? Now about ten years old, last won by the live action minigame dash of You Me Bum Bum Train, the OSBTTA is open to emerging theatre practitioners working in all genres and disciplines, whether soloists or full companies.

Partnered with the Barbican, the Award is now inviting companies to propose either a performance to take place in the Barbican's Pit theatre, or else a site-responsive project in a non-traditional theatre space in the East End of London or the City of London, in 2013. It's a two-stage deal, with two companies given research and development grants of £2500 each, then one of those picked for a full production grant that ranges £32,000 – £37,000.

They favour 'bold and innovative projects', whatever that might mean, so if you want to apply then the forms are here. Deadline is 5pm 16 December 2011.
