Based in Manresa in Catalan Spain, Fira Mediterrània is a large arts market and fair to promote interdiscipliniry performance work - visual arts, circus, dance, exhibitions, music, oral storytelling, theatre.
Fira's remit is to support and promote new work, both indoor and outdoor, that is inspired by the culture of Catalonia, Catalan-speaking regions and the entire Mediterranean area. Presenting companies and artists have access to all other scheduled performances at the fair (of which there are a lot – in 2010 there were 140 companies at Fira) and can purchase a stand at the accompanying trade fair.
