The Tobacco Factory and Theatre Bristol have teamed up to create SITE (Space Ideas Time Expertise), a new residency/bursary for one artist or company in 2011/12.
As part of the residency TFT and TB provide up to four weeks of rehearsal space, a producer offering creative and management support, advice from TFT in marketing, tech and fundraising, at least one work-in-progress opportunity to show the work to an invited audience, and (for those outside of Bristol) reasonable travel and accommodation expenses. The programme's open to artists/companies who've made at least three pieces of professional work, and while you don't have to be based in Bristol you should be clear how the work ties in with and benefits the Bristol scene. It's open to artists working in all performance forms, but bear in mind and be encouraged by the fact that Theatre Bristol is very supportive of circus.
The dates of the residency are flexible within TFT's commitments, but should fall between October 2011 and March 2012. For information on how to apply see here. Deadline is 9am on 1 August 2011.
