Bristol's excellent Mayfest is inviting proposals from artists and companies for a site-specific, non-theatre-based commission to be presented at Mayfest 2011.
The site itself is for you to propose – it could be any location in Bristol, indoors or out, busy or desolate. The Mayfest organisers are open to applications from all disciplines, but are looking for new work (which could be a redevelopment of existing work), work that appeals to a demographically broad audience (and to theatre refuseniks), and work, particularly, that it is relatively unusual to see in the public domain. The commission would need to be finished for performances at Mayfest 2011, which takes place 5-15 May.
The commission is open to artists and companies based in the South West, and the deadline for applications is 23 January 2011. For details on how to apply see here.
