With its first edition planned for 6-12 January 2014, Chicago Contemporary Circus Festival is currently looking for submissions from artists and companies who are interested either in showing their work at the festival or in running a workshop/masterclass there.
Performances of all sizes are sought, for main stage and black box spaces, as well as acts for a festival performance of Aloft's El Circo Cheapo Cabaret. One company will also be offered the opportunity to give a work-in-progress showing.
Full-length works will be paid a stipend based on company size and payment for workshops/masterclasses is by negotiation. For more information see here. Deadline for submissions is 1 August 2013.
