• On the Verge: Call for Proposals for New Work in Unusual Spaces

    21 April 2013 Jobs & Opportunities
    On the Verge

Organised by Hope Street Ltd, On the Verge is a new Liverpool festival dedicated to new work by emerging artists that's sited in unusual places or spaces – a phone box, a park, a shop window, a skip, a warehouse, anywhere unconventional.

Alongside its performance programme, On the Verge will host a series of workshops led by some of the UK’s leading practitioners, providing emerging artists the opportunity to participate in the training and to exchange informally with established practitioners.

Proposals are invited for new work to appear at the first edition of the festival, with the organisers particularly interested in work created for parks, small spaces (e.g. telephone boxes, doorways, etcetera), or the basement spaces of St George's Hall. Applicants must be available 16-20 October 2013 (exact dates for the festival tbc).

Artists accepted for On the Verge will receive bespoke support to help them realise their ambition. This may take the form of creative production support, help with funding, or assistance with marketing and future planning. Successful applicants will also receive expenses towards local travel (across Merseyside) and food/refreshments for the duration of their participation in On the Verge. A small contribution may also be made towards the costs of realising the work.
