A major commission for the Roundhouse's CircusFest, Puffball is a new work directed by Mark Storor and performed by a cast of young LGBTQ performers and circus artists. Developed over a year of workshops held around the country, the piece, directly and indirectly, draws on the personal experiences of those who've been involved in the project to create a performance reflecting, a little bit, the essence of their lives – something intimate but true to the universe. Anyway, it's one to see. Storor has made some incredible work in the past (including For the Best, created following a residency on the renal ward of Evelina Children's Hopital, and a tender subject, made in collaboration with gay prisoners and prison guards), and Puffball looks like being an ambitious, joyous work – very, very full of life.
