Held in the past at Salisbury Arts Centre, Practice is a platform for solo artists to try out work-in-progress pieces before a public and professional audience. Practice [Outside] is a special edition of the platform being held at Bridport Arts Centre on 25 July 2014.
Each Practice platform shows extracts of works in progress by solo performers and companies, with the potential for some of the works to be further developed and performed at ICIA University of Bath and Salisbury Arts Centre. Platform events are also attended by producers from CEW (Creative Ecology Wiltshire – formerly TheatreWorks and Wiltshire Dancing), BAC (Battersea Arts Centre) and/or Theatre Bristol, and Activate Performing Arts (Dorset).
Artists selected to show work at Practice will be expected to present between ten and fifteen minutes of performance material and will receive a £100 performance fee plus a contribution towards expenses of £50.
