Ireland's Circus Gerbola, a small, traditional family circus that's taken on some elements of the contemporary aesthetic (and Circomedia co-founder Helen Crocker as an artistic director), is looking for artists for its 2012 piece The Singing Ringmistress, which will tour Southern Ireland's deep rural regions, Dublin's urban spaces and festivals during the February – October season.
They're looking both for an actress with a strong speaking and singing voice to play the ringmistress, and for high quality solo and duo acts suitable for a family audience. They're particularly interested in seeing ground-based acts, though will also consider aerialists.
Auditions are in Bristol, in the South Wing of Circomedia's space at the Kingswood Foundation, 4 & 5 October 2011, 6-10pm both evenings. To apply send your CV and any promotional material to taragerbola@gmail.com and copy in helenpersonal@gmail.com
Applicants must be able to commit to the full season, and it's preferable but not essential for artists to have their own accommodation/transport. Pay is dependent on experience.
