An initiative of the ever excellent and active Institut Français, Festival Croisements is a programme of French music, visual art, film and performance in China – centering on Pékin (Beijing) but radiating out to some twenty Chinese cities.

For 2011 the festival has a little sub-section for 'nouveau cirque' – with three pieces, Compagnie Adrien M's Cinématique, Compagnie Ieto's Ieto, and Zahrbat's Petites histoires du hip-hop en mouvement – orbiting a travelling conference that visits Canton, Chengdu and Pékin. Led by the researcher Julien Rosemberg, the conference will introduce professionals and members of the public to the contemporary circus movement through talks, videos (no doubt taken from Le Nuancier du Cirque) and debate.
