• Circus and Dance: A Fresh Perspective on the Aging Body

    Co-organised by Cherbourg's La brèche centre within the framework of the 2013 edition of the Normandy-wide contemporary circus festival Spring and the PASS Circus Channel project, and by ODIA Normandie / the Centre Chorégraphique National de Caen / Basse-Normandie within the Danse d'Ailleurs Festival and the DanSCe Dialogues 2 network, a one day professional meeting will be held in Caen on 22 March 2013 titled 'Circus and Dance: A Fresh Perspective on the Aging Body'.

    The event has been organised to 'address the subject of the aging body in terms of aesthetics and creative energies', with the provisional list of speakers including Vicki Amedume (Upswing), Magali Sizorn (University of Rouen), Agathe Dumont (University of Lyon), Dominique Dupuy, Angela Laurier, Rosemary Lee, and Thierry Bae.

    Those attending the meeting are also invited to attend one of two evening performance programmes: Gandini Juggling's Clowns and Queens at La brèche + Sanja Kosonen and Elice Abonce Muhonen's Capilotractées in the Théâtre des Miroirs, or, alternatively, Compagnie Non Nova's Vortex in the Théâtre Municipal de Coutances + Ula Sickle's Solid Gold at the Centre Chorégraphique National de Caen.
