London's National Portrait Gallery has announced an upcoming exhibition of around 50 paintings and drawings by the early 20th Century artist Dame Laura Knight.
Among the work being exhibited are Knight's backstage portraits of actors and dancers from the 1920s, and, from the 1930s, the pieces she painted after travelling for several months with Bertram Mills and Great Carmo’s, capturing the spirit of the ring as well as the moments in-between and outside the performances, backstage and offstage.
The exhibition runs 11 July - 13 October 2013. Entry is £7 adults / £6.50 seniors / £6 concessions.
