Continuing on from Parklife, their roving community show that featured a core of company performers supplemented by local artists, NoFit State have been commissioned by ZEPA to create a new piece for 2011/12, currently titled Barricade.
A mid-scale outdoor performance, Barricade will be directed by Orit Aziz and Michele Weaver (aka Mish Weaver, of Stumble danceCircus), and feature a team of eight professional performers and four musicians bolstered by groups of community performers.
The company are looking for two female performers: 'a feisty female cloud swinger (no static aerial) who also has acrobatic and other skills and a multi-skilled acrobat / flyer / freerunner with strong stage presence'. Beyond the attractive qualities of NoFit State as an employer, the ZEPA (Zone Européenne de Projets Artistiques) programme is a pretty cool one, with venues / festivals / creation centres from the UK and France sharing resources to develop work for cross-Channel touring. (The UK probably gets the better end of the deal, too.)
Rehearsals 31 January - 12 February 2011 in Cardiff, and 25 April - 7 May 2011 at Atelier 231 in Sotteville-en-Rouen. Then a residency 12 - 20 May 2011 at Z'Arts Up Festival in Bethune, plus at least four more performances in 2011.
Send a CV and links to you work by 26 November 2010 to camille.beaumier@gmail.com
Auditions 7 December 2010 in Cardiff.
