Putting their National Portfolio funding to good use, NoFit State Circus will over the next three years be running an apprenticeship scheme with two tracks – one for performers and one for producers.
Performers: NoFit State are looking for three performers aged 18-30 to join the company from April 2012 for one year of professional development, which will include both training at NoFit's Cardiff centre and time spent touring with a professional production. Applicants should be from England but need to be willing to relocate to Cardiff for the year, and should have a background in acrobatics, parkour, gymnastics or circus. Recent circus school graduates are invited to apply. The apprenticeship is funded with a bursary from the company.
Producers: There will be two producer posts starting from April 2012, paid at different levels depending on starting experience and suitable for recent arts management graduates and more experienced arts professionals who would like to work in the contemporary circus sector. The successful candidates will work with the company’s creative directors to support professional projects and will be supported to create opportunities to produce their own project within the company. The posts are for one year with potential for one candidate to complete a second year alongside a new apprentice producer in 2013. As with the performer apprenticeships, applicants need to be from England but willing to relocate to Cardiff, and will spend part of their year at NoFit State's centre and the rest on tour.
