Acrojou are looking for a male or female physical performer to join the company in the creation of a new outdoor show.
Candidates should have strong skills in some or all of the following: physical theatre – strong performance presence (essential), comic and acting ability; circus – one or more of the following skills: acrobatics, German/Cyr wheel, trapeze / aerial hoop, acrobatic pitching/balancing flier, handstands; movement – must have strong/interesting/strange physicality, plus ability to move fluidly. Applicants should also be happy working physically and creatively on and with equipment, and must be comfortable creating material through play and improvisation (own PLI experience of performing outdoors is a bonus).
Performances are scheduled for 7 July (travel on the 6th), 13-14 July, 3-4 August (travel on the 2nd). Creation/rehearsal dates are tbc, but currently are 3-4 weeks prior to 6th July, plus half a week prior to each of the other two performance bookings. The company will be taking the piece back into development and rehearsal in early 2014, then touring summer 2014.
Fees are provided on enquiry (above Equity / ITC minimum + expenses). A 1 day audition will be held end of May; date and location are tbc, but the venue will be in either London or Kent.
