• Volunteer Trainers Wanted for Circus Kathmandu

    7 November 2012 Miscellaneous
    Nepal Circus Project

Volunteer trainers are currently being sought for Circus Kathmandu, a professional company comprised of people who've been through the social circus programme Sapana, a project that works with Nepalese young people who were trafficked or displaced into India and subsequently rescued by the Esther Benjamins Trust. Many of these children were sold into Indian circuses and forced to perform, and the purpose of Sapana and Circus Kathmandu is to give a creative/positive experience of circus training while providing them with the tools to develop a professional career.

Highly skilled circus, aerial and acrobatic trainers (particularly those specialising in straps, hand-to-hand and partner work) are currently being sought to work with Circus Kathmandu January-March 2013. Ideal placements will be 10-12 weeks working towards a fundraising performance at the end of March 2013. Volunteers will work with Circus Kathmandu's creative director Ali Williams (of NoFit State).

Food, accommodation and local travel is covered. If you're interested in volunteering there's more information and an application form here.
