The UK's most charming touring circus, Giffords' 2011 production is, ambitiously, an adaptation of Tolstoy's War and Peace. Sideshow is intrigued how they'll cope with the book's multi-threading plot and million identically named characters, but maybe it won't matter so much. Last year's Yasmine went a little blurry if you looked all that close, but just entering the tent was like stepping into another, older world – it's the traditional traditional circus: handmade, handpainted, run with love.
