    17 March 2014 Jobs & Opportunities
    NoFit State Circus

Cardiff-based NoFit State Circus are looking for ground-based performers (tightwire, handstand, acro, hand-to-hand, trampoline, object manipulation) and cradle duos to join their new outdoor project Open House.

Directed by Orit Azaz (Parklife, Barricade, Streets Alive), Open House is 'an immersive, ever-evolving, outdoor circus installation where everything and anything can happen… a unique circus theatre experience for public spaces, transforming city centres and inviting the passers-by to run away with the circus for an hour, a day, a weekend'.

Applicants need to have a high level of skill in one or more of the sought after circus disciplines, strong performing presence and warmth, genuine appetite for engaging with the public, and strong teaching abilities. Applicants should also be happy to work as part of a professional ensemble, excited by new creative approaches to site-responsive work, and prepared to perform outdoors, on customised structures, in a variety of contexts and conditions.

To apply you must also be available to audition in Cardiff 7 & 8 April 2014. The project will then have rehearsals/development in Cardiff 18-25 May, rehearsals/development in Newbury 9-13 June, and its first performances in Newbury 14 & 15 June. Additional performances are slated for August and September, dates tbc.

To apply send a CV, video links and a short letter on why you feel you are right for the project to ali@nofitstate.org by 28 March 2014.
