For those in Bristol there's a chance to see the premiere of Naomi Smyth's film The Invisible Circus: No Dress Rehearsal at the dinky Cube Microplex 5 February 2011 at 8pm.
The Invisible Circus are a shifting community of circus performers who over the years have occupied and put on large-scale events in a series of semi-derelict and forgotten spaces – with their last home the grand and beautiful and very large Island, an old fire station in the centre of Bristol.
Naomi followed the circus and amassed footage for three years, seeing the Invisibles go from an Audi garage squat to their last performances at the Island (they're currently moving out). It's sure to be a rich narrative of chaos and collapse and victory.
