    NoFit State Circus and Circus Space are among the 173 successful applicants announced today for the capacity building and match funding round of the Catalyst fund, a £100 million programme to stimulate private giving launched by Arts Council England, the Heritage Lottery Fund, and the DCMS.

    The Catalyst fund supports organisations in improving / expanding their fundraising. ACE says of this first round: 'Organisations will use funds in the first year to gear up resources and build capacity. In the second and third years, funding will increasingly be used as match funding to incentivise donations.'

    NoFit State have been awarded £156,562; Circus Space, £134,541. Other (circus friendly) venues, festivals and organisations to receive awards include The Roundhouse (£234,438), Greenwich + Docklands Festival (£150,000), Kendal Arts International (£137,500), and Brighton Dome and Festival (£240,000).

    The capacity building and match funding scheme has awarded a total of £30 million. Successful applicants to the £55 million Catalyst endowments and capacity building scheme will be announced 20 June 2012.
