Firsts is the ROH2's annual mini-season of new and experimental work, spread across three weekends and encompassing dance, physical and devised theatre, puppetry and, of course, circus. This year, in the first weekend (12 & 13 November), there's a new piece by Collectif and then..., Instants, inspired by the Jorge Luis Borges poem of the same name and apparently combining beatboxing with aerial sofa (so loosely inspired). Then in the second weekend (16 & 17 November) there's a performance of Sugar Beast Circus' Milkwood Rodeo plus a showing of Genius Sweatshop's The Man Who Wasn’t There, an ambitious collaboration between designers, circus artists and puppeteers which is still in progress but which has improved markedly at each public presentation. Take note that Firsts tickets are just £5.
